Optional extra

Print, scan and use your webcam in the session

Alcedo RDP works as a remote desktop client on its own. It also has TSPrint, TSScan and TSWebCam built in: if the server you connect to runs them, your local printer, scanner and webcam work in the session too, with no extra drivers on your computer.

Questions and answers.

Yes. Alcedo RDP is free for Mac and Linux: on the Mac App Store, and as .deb, .rpm and AppImage packages on this page.

Nothing extra. Like any remote desktop client, Alcedo RDP connects to Windows desktops and RemoteApp programs over RDP on its own. Printing, scanning and webcam are an optional extra: they work when the server also runs TSPrint 3.2.4.34, TSScan 3.5.5.6 or TSWebCam 1.0.9.10 or later.

The .deb package for Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, Pop!_OS or Zorin OS, the .rpm package for Fedora, or the AppImage for any other distribution. Most PCs need x86_64; if you are not sure, run uname -m in a terminal.

To update, install the new version the same way. Your connections are kept. To remove Alcedo, run sudo apt remove alcedo-rdp or sudo dnf remove alcedo-rdp, or delete the AppImage file.

No. On Mac, Alcedo RDP needs macOS 12.4 or later and a Mac with Apple M1 chip or later.
